Here's an introduction to my characters Mia and Tia Duran, also known collectively as "Siamese" on FurryMUCK. First some pictures...
These are two versions of an excellent picture done for me by Sonique. The first is without a background, the second has a color background and a bit different shading on the fur. It's not only beautiful, but has also been a great help in showing people how Mia and Tia are put together. Sometimes their text description just doesn't quite put it across.
Here is a fine picture that John Boulton very generously surprised me with. That's the kind of surprise I like! I especially like the view of their unique derriere, which was an aspect Sonique's picture didn't capture.
This is an outstanding picture from Kaijima Appleseed Frostfang. At work on their spaceship, repairing a malfunctioning sub-system, the caption for this picture should be: If you want something done right, do it yourself! Judging from their expression, the job isn't going too well.
This superb image was created by Sarah Palmer (AKA Caribou). I had a long wait for it, but the results were well worthwhile. I think 'Dressed to Kill' was the likely title of this piece.
As you can see, Mia and Tia are stuck on each other. In fact, there's some question about whether they should really be counted as one person or two. According to Mia: "We are a fractal person. We're more than one, but not two." They can act independently, have somewhat different personalities, sometimes they even argue or taunt one another -- and yet, there's also some link between them which is more than physical, but is never really spelled out.
Mia and Tia (then known as Crystal and Dawn) first appeared on SPR MUCK long ago, in the days before it was taken over by goons. Since then, I've played her (oops... them!) on Furscape MUCK. Later I brought them to FurryMUCK, though I did have to change their name to "Siamese" in order to avoid some spoofing concerns. That's okay . . . it suits them.
Also to be noted, the former names Crystal and Dawn began as an in-joke so obscure that nobody ever got it. They have now decided that Mia and Tia are cuter and suit them better -- but if somebody yells "Hey Crystal!" then Mia will still jump.
Contrary to what some might assume from their appearance, Mia and Tia are not "yiffy" types -- although they can be quite affectionate toward their good friends, in a feline way.
