(recounting births, deaths, honors, feature stories, etc.) from those publications and put them in notebooks along with other items such as funeral notices -- those small sheets announcing upcoming funerals. They were distributed to all downtown stores and offices in small towns until sometime in the 1970's (in Hamilton, TX). Some of those notebooks have now been indexed and are online.
