Each member of the Miller family would like to say, "Thanks for
dropping by our web". Other than this page, we'll try to let
our pictures "show you" rather than us try to "tell
you" our story. We have worked hard at trying to assemble the best
quality goats we could afford. We hope you agree!
At Miller Farms, our doe herd has a fundamental purpose, to raise show wethers.
Most or
our does are percentage does but they range from half bloods to American
Purebreds and we have a small group of full bloods. The
percentages are Spanish X Boer, Nubian X Boer, and Angora X Boer.
The underlying characteristic is not their foundation breed or how high their
boer percentage but their quality. We demand structural correctness,
muscle, and eye appeal without sacrificing the maternal characteristics that
make for an excellent replacement doe. Our does routinely birth triplets
and quadruplets and then raise what they have. A doe must have a real good
reason for birthing a single or she is culled from our herd.
Our first full blood boer buck was a New Zealand buck purchased from Charles
Turner here in Dublin. Since that time, we have crossed with sons or
grandsons of Ubora,
Sasquatch, Tabu, Yabu, CNR Pistolero, Spinner, Old Yellar, TLB M154, 139N Bingo,
NK M93, TLB Jack, and TLB Ripper. We currently have five very nice herd sires on our does.
PPW 6B63 is a son of TLB Jack and has been our premier wether sire for the past
two years. PPW
7B128 is a new wether sire for us and is a solid red double-bred TLB Jack
buck. TLB 703 is another new wether sire in 2008 and is an own son
of "Ripper" out of a Mr. Majestick/Bingo doe. Powell/Holman 88W is a Bingo son out of an EGGS Potts/Willie Nelson
doe. Our most recent addition in September 2008 is an own son of
Glynn Hutto's buck Festus over a Trueheart bred doe. Take a look at all of
them on our Sires page.
We have had excellent success that builds each
year! Reports are still coming in but goats
we sold are of the high quality it takes to make the sale at Houston and San
Antonio as well as winning many Grand and Reserves at county
shows. We expect even better results this year! Refer
to our Bragging Page for the most up-to-date information.
We would love to show you our goats almost anytime! If you
want to come Sunday
morning, Levi's and Wranglers are acceptable attire at our country church. Right after the preacher's
through, we'll have the rest of the day to look at and talk about one of our
favorite subjects, show goats.
