Direct Buses from the US to Mexico
Mexican bus lines have direct service from many US cities to as far south as Mexico City.  The gringo can get on a bus near his home, settle into his seat and wake up at the border around 2 AM.  At the border, there will be some papers to sign, but then it is back to sleep until morning. One arrives in Mexico City between 3 PM and 6 PM.

In January 2005, my wife and I took a direct bus from Dallas to Mexico City and back.  The round trip bus fare was $220 per person and we had a wonderful adventure.

Mexican bus fares are very reasonable and the Mexican bus system is superior to that commonly found in the US. Any Gringo capable of sitting still for long hours can enjoy visiting Mexico via their wonderful bus system.  The system is perfect for people like myself who have spent years perfecting their 'sitting still' skills while stuck for hours in commuter traffic.
