Cemetery Special Notes The map included in this writing was drafted by Lawrence Maynard. The photos were originally taken by Lawrence and Frances, they have been retaken to be embedded into this completed document, to allow for multiple distribution. Regrettably all the beautiful pictures could not be included due to the size of the file. The whole work has been recreated by Donna Brand with the Maynard’s permission for distribution. It is certain the Maynard’s efforts will be appreciated by those who wish to visit the graves of their ancestors. Anyone with information as to the identity of the unknown graves in this cemetery is encouraged to send that information to:
The following information will aid you in reading and understanding the information contained here. The names appear first, and are spelled as they appear in the Maynard’s documentation. The next column represents the birth date, while the third column represents the death date, and the forth column identifies the location within the cemetery. If any other information appears on the stone an indented line will follow it with the greater than “>” symbol to indicate that there is more. The personal notes of the Maynard’s may at times be added as a way of helping the reader understand more about the individual buried there. Those notes will be contained in parenthesis ( ). Information enclosed in parenthesis on the stone will appear in Cursive Brackets { }. When marriage dates appeared on a double stone the information has been placed between the two individuals and the marriage represented with an asterisks *. It is hoped that presenting the information in this format will aid you in your search. James & Nadine Roden, the present caretakers of the Grandview Cemetery, have added their own notes to the Maynard’s work, any information dated after April 1995 was contributed by them. This information has been enclosed in the Roman [ ] brackets. The addendum, added to the end of this work, is a listing of burials which took place after Lawrence & Frances Maynard finished their work, this information has been graciously supplied by James & Nadine Roden also. Please be aware that some of these stones are old, weathered, and at times almost impossible to read. In addition there is always a chance of error when information is transferred from one place to another. My sincere apologies go out to anyone who may find an error here. It has not been intentional. I am grateful to Lawrence & Frances, and James & Nadine for their contributions to the preservation of the information about our heritage. The intent of distributing this work is to make the information available to researchers through their local library, or to add it to a personal collection. Good luck with your searches. Donna Brand
