Dendy / Evans Family Cemetery
4 Graves have been confirmed on unimproved private land in southern Johnson County near Grandview. Call 817-641-9580 (adjoining landowner at 5525 CR 305) for access information. All 3 stones are broken and on the ground but their bases remain. Some are marble. No other gravesites are marked (if more exist) nor is there evidence of a structure in the area. At one time it is believed a fence ran between the Evans and Dendy stones as if the deceased may have lived on adjoining land. Local stories say a ‘stage road’ ran through there. Several “Dendy” and “Evans” families appear in the 1880 census (Johnson and Ellis Counties) but none have been found that agree with the ages of those listed above
