Heart Cottage is a contemporary styled victorian, one of a kind, unoccupied guest house, located 2 hours from Austin or Dallas, Texas with panoramic views of beautiful rolling prairie and farmland. When Vivian Ender learned that the nearby home her grandparents had moved into when they were married in 1909 was to be demolished, for sentimental reasons, she had it transported to her rolling prairie farmland. Soon after, most of the run-down homestead was destroyed by a storm, but the undaunted architectural designer remodeled it doing most of the work herself with the help of family and friends. Truly, this was a labor of love. A picture of her grandmother and great-grandparents is on display in what she now calls Heart Cottage, her bed and breakfast guesthouse.
Heart Cottage will steal your heart, with its special architectural touches: the wooden sunburst trim and fancy cut wood shingles in the gables, the striking exterior peach paint color accented with dark green, mint green, and dark brown paint, and the column wood porch with adirondack chairs. The Victorian-inspired cottage is very picturesque. The heart Theme is carried out extensively, from heart baskets on window sills, to the hand painted hearts above all the doors, to the hand crocheted heart shaped rug.
Perfect for honeymooners because of its privacy, Heart Cottage has a living area with vaulted ceiling and sleeping loft. Amenities include color TV, VCR, satellite dish, video selections, books, and board games. Guests prepare their own breakfast which the hostess leaves for them in a fully equipped kitchen.
