Hunting & Recreation

One of our hunters calls this young buck "Big Daddy"

Hunting and recreation are the only products a rancher has to offer on a sellers market. When we have a lease become available, we interview potential hunters. We seek those hunters whose ideas of conservation, game management and responsibility mesh with our own. When we fully understand each others needs and expectations up front, the associations are long lived. Many good friends have come to us through hunting.

With over 10,000 acres of land, we are able to provide high quality leases which are appreciated by the discerning hunter. We take pride in what we have to offer and our hunters enjoy the value they receive.

Wildlife habitat management and animal health are very important to us. High energy feed is provided in the winter while salt and organic mineral supplements that control internal parasites are available year-round.

Native feed is improving as we remove cedar. The unstressed oaks produce more acorns to supplement the newly grown ground cover.

Studies have shown that deer prefer to feed in the open but choose to stay close to there familiar protected area. They rarely penetrate deeply into dense cover. To support this natural behavior, we have left shelter belts of cedar in random honeycomb patterns to allow wildlife and domestic animals protection and habitat. This preserves the dense forest atmosphere.

Maintaining this natural habitat for the wildlife not only benefits the wildlife, it also provides the hunter with the excitement of a truely sporting challenge. They must match their wits against illusive game who's natural instincts are facilitated by natural surroundings.
