Parents and Grandparents

Remember to read to those kids! There are many good Bible Story Books on the market. Of course the best place to find a good one will be at your Christian book store.   The next time you're out shopping stop by and browse awhile.

Male and Female

Genesis 1:27b tells us that when God created man He created two, unmixed genders, "...male and female created he them." Nowhere does the Bible tell us that God created innocuous personhood. Yet, there are those who seek to rub out the gender lines with statements like, "I don't want to be thought of as a woman. I want to be thought of as a person."   And, of course, we have men that want to dress as women and women who want to take on the role of men.   All of this is an attempt to distort the importance that God has placed on gender.
At the time of creation, God created the male with all the pristine beauty of masculinity.   Also, He conferred on the female all the pristine beauty of femininity. Since God's plan stressed these concise and perfect distinctions it is more important that everyone be concerned with how they are thought of as a man or a woman. When we understand our role in God's plan, who would want to be thought of merely as a person.   (Used with permission from The Christian Life Counselor. Author: Jerry L. Ginther)
