"It Does Make A Difference What You Believe".
This is a copy of a Chick tract that may help you to understand where Mormons are coming from.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, commonly called the Mormon Church teaches that God was once a
man. ("
Journal of Discourses", Vol. II, pg. 40) But the Bible says "God is a Spirit..." (John 4:24)

The Mormon church doesn't teach polygamy anymore, but believes that God the Father has many wives as revealed to
them by their "Latter-day Apostles". ("
The Seer", by Orson Pratt, pg. 172)

They believe that God the Father is now on a planet near the star Kolob with his wives having spiritual children. ("
Pearl of
Great Price
", Abraham 3:9,16) The Bible says: "Our Father which art in heaven..." (Matt 6:9)

The Mormon Prophet, President Kimball, taught that Satan and Jesus are spirit brothers. ("
Ensign Magazine", December,
1980, p.5) The Bible says that Jesus is God, the creator of everything in heaven and on earth (including Lucifer). (Col 1:16-
18)

The Mormon church tells about the war in heaven as when Jesus and Lucifer approached God with their plans of
salvation. They believe there were many gods present, as Joseph Smith called it a "Council of Gods". Lucifer's plan was to
"make" people worship God... , but Jesus' plan was to "show" the people how to worship God. Lucifer's plan was
rejected, and Jesus' plan was accepted. ("
Pearl of Great Price", Book of Moses 4:1-3) They believe Jesus was the Savior
only because His plan was accepted. The Bible say. "He, (Jesus) was in the world, and the world was made by Him, and
the world knew Him not". (John 1:10)

Mormons believe that Lucifer became Satan when he rebelled and was thrown out of heaven with a third of the spirits. As
for the other two thirds, one third was faithful and stayed with Jesus in the battle. The other and last third didn't fight as
valiantly, but all the remaining two thirds were the spirit children of God the Father and His wives. The ones who were
faithful to Jesus are born as babies with white skin. ("
Doctrines of Salvation", Vol. 1, J.F. Smith, p. 61) And the children
who didn't fight as valiantly during the battle in heaven are the babies born with dark skin. ("
Mormon Doctrine", by Bruce
R. McConkie, pp. 526-527, 1966 edition)

The Mormon church teaches that a Mormon can become a god with a planet of their own if they are obedient to the laws
and ordinances of the gospel. They believe that "As man is, God once was, and as God is, man may become". ("
Articles of
Faith
", by James Talmage pg. 430)

The Journal of Discourses, shows that the Mormons once taught that Jesus had many wives... the two sisters of Lazarus
and Mary Magdalene, because Jesus couldn't become a god unless he was married. ("
Mormon Doctrine", by Bruce R.
McConkie, pp. 117-118) The Bible says, "Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever". Heb. 13:8) Jesus
has always been God (John 1:1-3 and Rev. 1:8)

A study of the history and doctrine of
Mormonism will reveal that it is nothing but a modern day form of Baal worship. It's
a mixture of the
Babylonian and Jewish religions, Masonry and Catholic traditions. They claim Apostolic Authority just like
the Vatican. They even have 12 apostles in Salt Lake City, Utah.

The Christian message that you read on a Mormon web site is a message you may hear from them on television or at a
Promise Keepers meeting. Mormons convey a somewhat different message when dealing with the public, as when
witnessing for converts or when the message will be made public, than they do when dealing with members.

Mormons like Roman Catholics believe in the Atonement of Christ "
when accompanied by good works". Mormons have
added many of their own doctrines to what is taught in the Bible.
