20. Andrew Jackson "Jack" GRISHAM, Jr. (4.Andrew², 1.George¹)  was a postmaster  He married Cordelia Ann "Cora" ENGLISH on 03 November, 1876, in McNairy County , TN. Cordelia Ann "Cora" ENGLISH was born 16 June, 1860, and died 23 August, 1949, Abilene, Taylor County , TX. Jack was buried in the  Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Wolfe City, Hunt County , TX.

Jack  may have been as young as 8 when his parents died.  In 1870, Jackson, was an orphaned child living in the home of his older brother, Eaphraim "Eaf" at Booneville, Prentiss County , MS. Jack was appointed postmaster of Hickory Creek, Hunt County, Texas, on 12 October, 1892 by John Wanamaker, Postmaster General of the United States.

Cordelia: Cordelia married Andrew Jackson "Jack" Grisham when she was 16. After Jack's death, Cora married James A, Felty on 20 December, 1900, in Hunt County, TX.

I have been puzzled about the fact that Jack's daughter did not  know that her father was named for his father.  Perhaps it was because their father was young at the time of his father's death.  Hattie was only 9 when her father, Jack died. We have not uncovered evidence to indicate who assumed the care of the orphaned children of Andrew Jackson and Gillie Grisham.  Perhaps Isaac G. "Black Ike" Grisham and his first wife, Elizabeth Mason (GRISHAM ?) were the most likely prospects to become parents to Andrew and Gillie's children.

     ii Willie Isaac GRISHAM born 16 Sep 1879, died 8 Feb 1901, Buried: Wolfe City, Hunt County, TX. Willie died at the age of 21.

54. iii Henry Walton GRISHAM born 13 December, 1881.

     iv Fannie Ethel GRISHAM born 4 Jan 1884, Moran, Shackelford County, TX, married 16 Nov 1913, in Abilene, Taylor County , TX, Finis Alonzo WALKER, born 15 Nov 1888, Plevna, AL.  Fannie died 4 Mar 1919, Abilene, Taylor County , TX, Buried: Abilene, Taylor County , TX. Finis and Ethel had no children. Birth and death dates are from #174 World Ancestry. At the age of 29 Fannie Ethel married Finas Alonzo Walker.

     v Walter Clifton GRISHAM born 24 February, 1886, TX, Church: Baptist, Occupation Preacher, died 8 November, 1908,  Buried: Moran, Shackelford County, TX.

     vi Hattie Belle GRISHAM born 29 June, 1888, Occupation Child Care--Day Care, died 1 Aug 1981, Taylor County, TX. Hattie kept children during the day for working parents for many years in Abilene. 

55. vii Jesse Leander GRISHAM born 02 February, 1890.

56. viii Tiny Beatrice GRISHAM born 25 Apr 1891.

57. ix Robert Labron "Bob" GRISHAM born 14 Feb 1893.
