25 March, 1876, in Tupelo, Lee County, MS. He was baptized in
September, 1896, by the Blue Ridge Baptist Church, Hamilton County, TX.
Lem was a farmer. He was married to May Iantha CHUMNEY on
6 October, 1901, in Hamilton County, TX, by B. F. White, a Baptist
preacher.
May Iantha CHUMNEY (daughter of George Washington CHUMNEY and Sarah
Virginia "Sally" FERGUSSON) was born 27 December, 1887, in
Hamilton, TX. May was baptized in September, 1909, by
the Blue Ridge Baptist Church, Hamilton County, TX. May
died 21 August, 1962.
Lem died 25 July, 1951, in Wichita Falls, Wichita County, TX, and
was buried: 26 Jul 1951, at Quanah, Hardeman County, TX.
In 1878 Lem came with his parents and older brother, Will,
from Tupelo, MS, to Fannin County, TX. Between 1 June, 1880, 4 July,
1880, Lem's family moved to Blue Ridge, Hamilton County, TX, then
Evant, and back to Blue Ridge where he lived until after he married.
In 1908 Lem and May moved to Medicine Mound in Hardeman
County, TX. They lived many years near Quanah. At his death their home was
in North Groesbeck.
May: 1908 Lem & May moved with their 3 sons
from Hamilton County to Callahan County on a train. "Mrs.
Grisham and children rode as regular passengers. Mr. Grisham
rode in the immigrant's car with household goods, 2 cows, and 4 horses.
They settled in Chillicothe. On Jan. 8, 1915, they moved to Big Valley,
Hardeman County, TX. On 24 Aug., 1925, they bought a farm at Groesbeck,
northwest of Quanah, TX." Another death date for May is
8-24-1961 from "The Story of Hardeman County"

ii Floyd GRISHAM , born 23 April, 1904, Hamilton
County, TX, married Lela Eugenia __?__, who was born 8
January, 1903, and died 15 Jun 1983, in Wilbarger County, TX. Floyd
died 06 August, 1987, Wichita Falls, Wichita County, TX. Floyd
entered a rest home in Wichita Falls, TX about Oct. 1, 1985, according to Carolyn
Gray. He had no children. Floyd went to Vernon in 1916 to
attend business college and later went to work there.
