"Eaf" was probably the oldest child of Andrew Jackson Grisham and
Gillie Olive (Mason) Grisham. "Eaf" married 18 June, 1867, in
Tippah County , MS, (Tippah County , Marriage Bk. 3, P. 18,)
Elizabeth J. "Bettie" PATTERSON, who was born 10 May,
1847, MS,12 and died 27 March, 1928, in Prentiss County
, MS,12 Bettie was buried in the County Line
Cemetery, Booneville, MS. "Eaf" enlisted, April, 1861, in
the Confederate Army. He signed documents with his mark. "Eaf" was
totally deaf after his eardrums were punctured during the Civil
War.
The "Eaf" Grisham family owned a general store at
Blackland, Prentiss County, MS.
In 1870 "Eaf's" younger orphaned brothers--Jackson,
George, and Richard lived in his household. In 1878,
"Eaf"
was listed on the tax roll of Ripley District, Tippah County , MS.
"Eaf"
was enumerated in Tippah County , MS in 1900.
Elizabeth "Bettie" Patterson Grisham's
younger sister married one of "Eaf's" younger brothers, George
Washington Grisham. On April 28, 1926, Bettie filed an
application for a widow's Civil War Pension. At that time she was living
"in Tippah County at Boonevile."
