Most of us try to avoid Scorpions. They
sting! However, the Central Texas
Astronomical Society will feature Scorpio, the Scorpion at its monthly
stargazing on July 24th. The public is invited,
and there is no charge.
Attendees are encouraged to bring telescopes or binoculars if they have
them. However all that is really required is being excited about
sharing the wonders of the night sky. Members of the Astronomical
Society will be on hand to give a guided tour of star clusters, the Milky
Way, and other great sights in the Scorpion that lurks in our summer sky. The Society regrets that it cannot offer a
makeup date in case of rain. However clouds frequently clear in the
evening, so every effort will be made to stay until at least 9:00pm, before
giving up for the night.
