This is the "Autobiography and Reminiscences" of Wiley M. Crook, who lived in Johnson County 1876-1903 and was at one time postmaster at Cresson. Most of the book is about the Civil War, but there is genealogy for Crook descendants.

   The Elbert Berry Lively Family

If there ever was a genealogical stone wall built, Elbert Berry Lively's parents and his family members are on the other side - There are many gaps within this family (especially Elbert's first two children) - if you have any additions/correction or would like to contribute (this is our family, this site was established for you), please let me know in order that we may bring our family up-to-date. By working together, we can solve the puzzle of Elbert Berry's parentage and from where he was abducted by Indians.
Within my website, I have a webpage on the descendants of Elbert B. LIVELY who lived within Johnson County. His daughter Martha married James Madison POWELL, and resided within Johnson, his son, James Elbert LIVELY married Retta Adeline BLACKBURN-JOHNSON within the Johnson/Tarrant county area, as did his Elbert's son Joseph Berry LIVELY, who married Margaret Drucilla BLACKBURN (sister to Retta Adeline). The BLACKBURN line, as yet, is not online.
